Who's in charge? You or your beliefs?
You can take charge by uncovering your limiting beliefs. Complete a Beliefs Stocktake of your life and throw out the old inventory. Bring in new stock to live your best life.
Your beliefs are formed at an early age by programming from your parents, school, government, the media and other significant authority figures. Beliefs are a paradox, as they are essential for making sense of your world and environment, however, many are limiting beliefs. Many beliefs you may think of as truths until life shows you other ways and many will be operating unconsciously. Limiting beliefs create circumstances in your life that you don't want.
Imagine that limiting beliefs are like stumbling blocks on the path you are walking.
What can you do to remove limiting beliefs? You can complete a Beliefs Stocktake of your life and follow these simple strategies.
Beliefs Stocktake
Step 1: Look at the results you are getting in the four quadrants of your life including i) health, ii) relationships, iii) career and iv) finances.
Step 2: Identify the gaps between what you want and the results you have achieved. This gap tells you where beliefs are hiding and stopping you from achieving what you want.
Step 3: Focus in on one area where you would like to shift your beliefs to achieve what you want. Once you have finished one area, you can move through the other three.
Let's take an example to illustrate the steps above. Sandy wants to lose 10kg / 22 pounds of weight to feel healthier and to fit more comfortably into her clothes.
Strategies for clearing beliefs and create a new belief
1. Peel back the onion: this is a process of asking yourself questions to discover what is keeping you stuck? When you stop, listen and meditate the answer will appear.
In Sandy's case, she asks herself what is keeping her from losing weight? She uncovered the belief that she sees weightloss as hard and that she doesn't have the time or energy to commit to it at present.
You will come to realise that the unconscious beliefs are stronger than your belief and commitment to what you want. To clear out the belief, you will need to focus on creating a new belief that is the opposite to the underlying belief. For example, Sandy needs to create the new belief of weightloss is easy and effortless or she has more than enough time and energy in her life to exercise and eat healthy foods every day.
To help make this process stronger, Sandy could follow up with specific actions such as committing to exercising on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week for one hour for 12 weeks. By being specific, this helps your mind keep on target with the change you want to make. The great thing is your brain is plastic and can create new neural pathways, however, it needs help doing this as otherwise it will revert to the old pathway.
Daily repetition is key to creating new beliefs. Writing your new belief and actions down will make the process easier.

2. Ho'oponopono: this is the ancient Hawaiian healing technique that is very effective and easy at transforming beliefs. You acknowledge the problem or belief that you want to clear and repeat the phrases "I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you." You are saying this phrase to Spirit, who will clear the belief for you.
Take stock, contemplate and meditate and be the change you want to see in the world. Remove those limiting beliefs and watch as infinite possibilities open up.
