How to relax and allow life to unfold
When your inner knowing tells you that something is coming into your life and you see signs of it in advance and it's something that you desire, e.g. a house move, new relationship or job, how do you be patient with this anticipation and relax into the state of allowing?
This can be challenging to do because you desire something and you feel the energy of its presence but it's not here physically yet, and you have that feeling of just wanting things to hurry up. In our modern life, we are living in a predominant masculine paradigm, we feel the need to take action constantly to achieve the things that we desire. It's actually the opposite energy that is needed to be in a state of allowing and that is the energy of receiving, which is a feminine quality. Once you are in this state, you can then wait for inspired action to come through to move you forward.
What are three ways to get you into a state of allowing?
Drop resistance
Often the thing you want, you are attached to and are in the energy of controlling it. There are many ways in which we try to control things such as being fixed on a goal and continuously striving to achieve it, planning our days in detail rather than being in flow, and thinking about a certain outcome for ourselves rather than the highest good for all.
Releasing the situation and having faith that it's working out for your highest good, and this is how you build trust in life. We don't need to just be focused on our physical ways to manifest, a state of allowing is about letting go and radical acceptance of the outcome no matter what it is.
Be in the present moment
Take your attention off the situation you anticipate coming into your life and focus on the present moment. Activities that can help you do this include:
- Cooking: focus on each step in the cooking process and try to use several colours and varieties of vegetables in your dish. Be mindful of all the colours and take time to admire and be grateful for your meal.
- Draw or paint: get into a flow state and the hours will quickly pass by.
- Dance: have fun moving your body to your favourite songs in your living room. Actively listen to the music and lyrics as you move your body in rhythm.
- Take a walk in nature: go for a walk in nature observing everything around you like you're experiencing it for the first time or with the wonder and awe of a 4-year-old.
Practice patience
Patience is a wonderful lesson to learn particularly if you are someone who is results-focused and doesn't want to wait. When you are waiting for something to show up in your life, it's a great opportunity to practice patience and be grateful for everything you have.
As you wait for the new to emerge, embody a state of joyful anticipation. Joyful anticipation is feeling good in the moment as you patiently wait. Joyful anticipation is feel-good energy and a song that reminds me of this energy is "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and The Waves.
