How can the sun uplift your life?

How can the sun uplift your life?

Jun 20, 2021

The sun is a powerful source of light and life force energy. Access the power to gain more confidence and happiness in life.

This week I’m drawn to the sun as we approach the Solstice on Monday 21 June 2020 and as the Earth tilts closest to the sun in the North and furthest away in the South. Many religions and cultures in Ancient times and today worship the sun.

I grew up in Hobart, Tasmania in Australia, and there were many a grey day growing up and you could often find me like a reptile in a patch of sun warming my bones whenever the opportunity arose. I even ended up being a sun seeker as I couldn’t handle living in a cold place so I spent much of my adult life in Queensland where I would tell people that there’s “at least 300 days of the year that are sunny here.” Paulo Coehlo in his infinite wisdom helped me completely reframe and not be bothered about grey days anymore with this quote:

Welcome to the place where we always say that the sky is blue even when it is grey, because we know that the colour is still there above the clouds

- The Zahir

The sun really is quite amazing, here’s some facts from NASA:

· Approximately 4.5 billion years old

· Its gravity holds the solar system together

· It’s the heart of the solar system

· It’s the source for all life on Earth.

The sun provides the light in the day whereas the moon shines at night representing the contrast of light and dark in life. One of the many polarities we experience in life.

The sun is found in many instances including:

Astrology: The sun has the most influence on the sign of Leo. In Astrology, the sun represents the self, your ego and your soul purpose. The sun brings tremendous creative power. The sun also enjoys being in Aries, where it will also be a strong influence. Your sun sign in Astrology describes your personality on a fundamental level.

Numerology: The Sun Number is a foundational number and is a number to turn to when going through challenges and responding to opportunities during life’s cycles. It’s particularly useful in how you naturally respond to change. Your Sun Number is calculated by adding your day and month of birth, for example, if you are born on 11 January (1st month) then, your Sun Number will be a 3. Tarot: The Sun card in the Tarot deck is seen as one of the best cards to receive as it represents vitality, self confidence and radiates optimism. The happiness you feel when you live in alignment with your soul purpose and true self. When this card arrives in your reading, it means good things are on their way.

Songs: The great 80’s song “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves is one of my all-time favourites to dance too. Woohoo, get up and do a happy dance! You can feel the power of the sun in that uplifting tune. How about Johnny Nash’s “I Can See Clearly Now,” to lift you out of the blues?

Be grateful for its presence and access its power whenever you need. What area of your life could do with a boost of sunshine? Draw on the power and light of the sun and may it bring warmth and light to your life and shower you with its life giving presence.
